Description

Nepal and China are neighboring countries. The cultural contact between the two countries spans to over two thousand years. The story of the birth of Buddha reached China in 2 B.C. Commencement of this communication is regarded to be the beginning of contact and also the beginning of Nepal-China relations. Since then Buddhist teachers like Buddhabhadra of Kapilavastu, Nepal visited China and Chinese Buddhist scholars like Seng-tsai, Fa-Hsien (Fahian), Hsuan-Tsang (Huentsang) and others visited places related to the life of Buddha in Nepal. They also collected Buddhist Sutras and other materials concerning the teaching of the Lord.
