Leadership at local and national levels had distinct role to perform but the traits of leadership are common. In a country like Nepal, where most local issues engage national leaders during election, the importance of grassroots level democracy becomes more relevant. About the Author: Krishna Hachhethu, Lok Raj Baral Lok Raj Baral (ph.D) is Professor and Executive Chairman of Nepal Centre for Contemporary Studies ( NCCS). He is the author of several books on Nepal and South Asia and regular contributor to National and International Journals, and edited volumes. Krishna Hachhethu( Ph.D) is Associate Professor of Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies, Tribhuban University, Kathmandu. His latest publication is Party Building in Nepal. Krishna P Khanal is Professor of Political Science at Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu. He has served in different capacities-advisor to Prime Minister, Member-Secretary of Nepal Social Service Co-ordination Council and Executive Director of Centre for Nepal and Asian Studies(CNAS), Tribhuvan University, Kathmandu.
