A volume which endeavours to provide an up-to-date and accessible account and analysis of civil jurisdiction and judgements in the EC, taking account of the Brussels and Lugano Conventions, and in the light of the now substantial case law in this area. The book explains the conventions and case law that has grown up around them, and also examine their place in the Community legal order as a whole. At the same time they will be placed in the context of the traditional treaties on the same matters under general international law, contrasted with the approach adopted in the USA.
